new character-which heroes to go for first?
Hey there...after discovering that the elementalist is not as fun as i had hoped, i decided to switch to the assassin. I have just recently leveled to 11 in factions, and im wondering where to go next.
My question is this: which heroes/builds should i get first? My goal is to get to eye of the north as fast as possible, and clear it ( for my first time all the way through) with as little resistance as possible. I managed to farm out all the skills required for the triple necro build on another character- but in order to grab all three necros, id have to take a lot of sidesteps. So- basically i am looking to build a strong efficient solo party as quickly as i can so that i can go on to leveling and enjoying eye of the north. Im trying to avoid getting heroes that require a ton of farming to make them worthwhile. The more essential skills they start with, the better. Thanks guys- i own nightfall and eotn for the record, AND i am not concerned with HM's at the moment. |

I would reccomend getting Olias from near the start of NF, (look him up on wiki, can't remember the quest) Xandra from the norn tournament in Gunnar's Hold (EoTN) as it's very easy as an assassin, and then Livia from the Asuran questline.
You could run a MM on one of the necros and a N/Rt healer on the other, or even just an SS with Barbs / MoP (epic for assassin) and then an SoS bar on the Ritualist with Splinter weapon and Ancestor's Rage. |

I would avoid doing too many of the missions in kaining center till you get your choice of heroes then you can run through the 3000 pt missions leveling heroes and in my case animal companions.
I usually have Koss or meloni in my party along with Dunkaro or Takhora from nightfall, Olias is nearly always taken and of course Gwen. So I usually begin in Kamadan get those heroes cross to Lions Arch for Olias and then start leveling them up. When I have some decent AI heroes to 20th level I go to Eye and get the rest. All depends on what fits in with your party though. |

I'd get vekk, olias and Koss/MOX first.
Koss and Olias aren't neccesarily ideal straight away as they need levelling but you cant get Livia and Jora until you've done their respective parts of eye of the North. MOX is easyto get and doesn't need levelling but is less effective if you come across enchantment strippers. Vekk is better than souske as he comes at the start of gw:en at lv 20 where as Souske is at level 12, it might be worth picking souske up anyway though to get any fire skills unlocked that you don't already have and you'll want to rearrange vekks skills as he starts out with a fairly poor energy storage attribute. I wouldn't go for a monk hero unless your planning to run it as a smiter/protectionist as I find that when playing with say Ogden as a healer he comes out of most missions with 45-60% dp as he keeps going to the front line and getting pasted whereas the healer henchmen hang back quite a lot in comparison. |

Well but one of the best skills for an sin is easy to capture in EOTN, Wounding strike.
If you want to blow things up with your sin I'd go scythe sin, xandra with splinter and SoH on you and you will cut through your enemies, whatever campaign you are. As you can see, many different opinions here |

Worthwhile heroes that r faster and easier to get are Ogden/Dunkoro, Gwen and Melonni.
Melonni is prolly better then MOX, becos MOX huge size may or will block your view at times. For a Monk healing Hero u can choose Ogden or Dunkoro, which u like best (looking ) Apparently some players found a use(full build) for Vekk. I havent, so i dont care about Vekk. |

Actually non human heroes are ideal as they don't spread disease. I'd head to Boreal Station and grab the lvl 20 heroes there. You can make "good enough" builds with those until you get a necro or rit or whatever your preferred team build is. NM can be rolled with most anything. |

Olias can probably do the most for you if you are used to playing by yourself. But if you can get to Kamadan, right outside you can pick up more than one hero.
The necro heroes (Olias, Master of Whispers, Livia) are used in some of the more popular hero team builds. |

Never thought about that, wonder if edge of extinction would be more useful now. Always kept away from it in case I blew up my own party. |

For general use I run these heroes now
Olias for MM Xandra for spiritspammer Gwen for Psychic Instability build (lots of knockdowns and interrupts) or if you prefer the Panic build. I then add in two monks, a warrior and an interrupt ranger. This gets me through almost everything even on my sin.
